Chairman's Greeting
Racehorse Owners Carry Dreams
As a racehorse owner, having many happy times and many spectacular experiences with horses, I have learned a lot of important things in life from them. Furthermore, I feel very happy that I have been able to become acquainted with many energetic and reliable friends who love horses.
We have a Japanese word AIBA, 愛馬, which means “beloved horse(s)”. AI, 愛 means love and BA, 馬 means horse(s). Every horse is loved by an owner, even though he or she may be unknown or unsuccessful in this world. With a lot of love, support, and help by many people, AIBA run, having our dreams on their backs. I think that each AIBA is “a dream” in itself. Anyone who gets involved in racehorse ownership is a fantasist who carries dreams on their racehorses. As for me, I always talk to my AIBA, saying “I thank you. You do your best and I do my best.” With plenty of love for them, I have written letters to my AIBA, even though they cannot read.

Mori Yasuhiko,
Chairman of the Tokyo Horse Owners Association
Chairman of the Tokyo Horse Owners Association
We racehorse owners are always anxious about AIBA’s condition, injury or sickness, which is very similar to any concerns for our children’s health. So every time, when AIBA makes its debut on the turf, we will be the most delighted we have ever experienced. Watching our horses endeavor to run their very best, we receive great energy, courage, and hope as well as dreams.
I believe that the most important thing that supports the world of horse racing now is the feeling that each owner considers his or her horses to be “the beloved” AIBA. Having our dreams on AIBA, racehorse owners dress up for the races and cheer them on. Without considering costs, we are just happy to have AIBA, who bring us endless hopes and dreams.
Modern horse racing started 150 years ago. Every thoroughbred can be traced back to their ancestors. Having various hopes and dreams, each owner has taken good care of them to assure that the bloodlines will be kept pure down through all generations. Now we owe to inherit them for the next generations over the ages. We sincerely hope you will join us in enjoying owning a racehorse and receiving our baton. We would like to talk about AIBA and the dreams our horses carry, together with you.
This year, here at Tokyo Race Course, the Japan Derby was held and more than 100,000 horse race fans applauded the thoroughbred and the jockey who took the crown. Tokyo Race Course is the best stage which charms all the spectators interested in racing. Every horse owner is eager to have the title of the “owner of the derby” here.
Tokyo Race Course is a world’s premier racing venue. I sincerely love it. You can enjoy not only the races, but also the majestic view of Mt. Fuji and the skyscrapers of Tokyo from the open-air seating at the grandstand. Here you will have a great time talking about your AIBA and your dreams, apart from your daily life.
Japan horse racing is an attractive entertainment and regarded as the fairest game in the world. Visitors from overseas often praise its relaxed atmosphere and the good manners of the Japanese people. Families and couples can enjoy their experience at the Tokyo Race Course.
As you know, now some racehorses of Japanese owners have won at the world class races overseas. Being the leading country in Asian horse races, Japan should become more active in racing worldwide. We Japanese racehorse owners will do our best to contribute to its development.
Our dreams are not only on horse racing and AIBA, but we would like to contribute actively to our society. We participate in various community projects and events. We make contributions to the community with service to benefit the society. We try to keep heartwarming service to small organizations.
Being proud of working at the core of the Japanese horse racing history, Tokyo Horse Owners Association intends to contribute to the development of racing and all of 10 Horse Owners Associations in Japan. Now I would like to repeat that we expect you to join us to be a racehorse owner and our new partner in contributing to society.
Dreams...they would never choose people, time or stage. Only the person who keeps dreaming will realize them. Having dreams, we can try our best and solve problems and conquer difficulties. Dreams will continue forever.
Let’s talk about our AIBA and “dreams” here at Tokyo Race Course.
